1. Introduction

Welcome to the bOS Client Application ("App"), a smart home and building automation control application available on Android and iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how ComfortClick d.o.o. ("ComfortClick", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use our App.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account credentials (username and password) for connecting to your ComfortClick server
  • Server connection details such as IP address, port number, and server name
  • User preferences and custom configuration settings within the App

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device identifiers such as device model, operating system version, and unique device ID, used solely for push notification delivery
  • Network information, including local network details required for device communication

2.3 Smart Home Device Data

The App accesses smart home device data solely to display status and execute your commands. This data is processed locally on your device and stored exclusively on your own ComfortClick server. ComfortClick d.o.o. does not transmit, collect, or have access to your smart home device data. This includes:

  • Status and state of connected smart home devices such as lights, thermostats, sensors, locks, and cameras
  • Automation schedules and rules you configure
  • Historical data from sensors and device activity logs, as stored on your server

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

  • Enable core App functionality by connecting to and controlling your ComfortClick server and smart home devices
  • Authenticate your identity and maintain session security
  • Display real-time device status, history, and automation states
  • Send push notifications for alarms, events, and device alerts, only with your consent
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

4. Data Storage and Processing

The bOS Client App is designed as a local-first application. All data is processed and stored on your own ComfortClick server, which you host and control. This means:

  • Your smart home data, automation rules, and device history are stored on your server, not our infrastructure
  • Account credentials are stored locally on your device in encrypted form
  • App configuration and preferences are stored locally on your device

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

5.1 Service Providers

We may engage trusted third-party service providers to assist in operating the App, such as crash reporting or analytics providers. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for specified purposes.

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of ComfortClick, our users, or the public.

5.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such change in ownership and any material changes to this Privacy Policy.

6. App Permissions

The bOS Client App may request the following device permissions:

  • Network access, required to communicate with your ComfortClick server over your local network or the internet
  • Camera, required only if you use the integrated camera viewer feature
  • Microphone, required only if you use two-way audio intercom features
  • Location, optional and requested only if you enable geofencing-based automations
  • Push notifications, to deliver device alerts and alarm events
  • Local storage, to store configuration, cached data, and user preferences

You can manage or revoke permissions at any time through your device's system settings. Revoking certain permissions may limit App functionality.

7. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures including:

  • Encrypted storage of credentials on your device using platform-standard secure storage such as Android Keystore and iOS Keychain
  • Support for TLS/SSL encrypted connections to your ComfortClick server
  • No retention of your smart home data on our servers, because the data remains on your own infrastructure

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the App at your own risk. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your ComfortClick server and your network.

8. Children's Privacy

The bOS Client App is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

  • Right of access, to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification, to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure, to request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to restriction, to request that we limit the processing of your data
  • Right to data portability, to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the details provided in Section 12. We will respond within 30 days. Note that most of your smart home data is stored on your own server, which you control directly.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The App may integrate with or link to third-party services, such as IP camera streams, external APIs, or smart home device vendors. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you connect to through the App.

Third-party SDKs used in the App may include platform notification services such as Google FCM and Apple APNs for push notification delivery.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. For significant changes, we will provide notice through the App or via email, if we have your contact information.
