Project main image

This project modernized the lighting control system at the Church of St. Ignatius, replacing outdated interfaces with an intuitive visualization hub powered by ComfortClick’s Grinder Black server. The new solution enhances usability, scheduling, and overall control while maintaining full compatibility with the church’s existing 20-year-old KNX lighting infrastructure.

Technology Used:

  1. KNX lighting with 1–10 V dimming and On/Off switching

Project Description:

Developed by Ace Light & Automation Pte Ltd, this project focused on upgrading the human-machine interface of the Church of St. Ignatius’s long-standing KNX lighting system. While the original KNX infrastructure remained fully operational, its aging and rigid interface limited flexibility for daily use.

To address this, the team implemented ComfortClick’s Grinder Black as the new visualization and control hub selected for its reliability, compact design, and suitability for mid-sized buildings. The new bOS visualization provides clear map-based floor layouts, allowing staff and volunteers to intuitively control lighting zones throughout the church.

In addition to manual operation, scenes and schedules were programmed to simplify routine management tasks, such as adjusting lighting for services, community events, or maintenance activities. The system’s logic capabilities enable automated task execution based on preset conditions, reducing manual intervention and improving efficiency for the church’s facility management team.

This modernization demonstrates how existing KNX systems can be revitalized with ComfortClick technology bringing modern functionality and visual simplicity to even the most established infrastructures.
