Project Description

Implemented by Archimede Plus Srl, this project brings flexible building automation to a new production facility in Modena, Italy, specialising in high-end leather goods. The owner had already experienced KNX automation in his home and entrusted the team with the new facility.

Because the company’s departments and operational areas could change as the facility developed, flexibility was a key requirement from the start. KNX provides an adaptable automation infrastructure, while ComfortClick Jigsaw PRO supervises and integrates lighting, motorised curtains, windows, gates, ventilation and other building functions.

The installation combines KNX touch panels with traditional push buttons connected through input devices, giving staff different ways to control the system in each area. ComfortClick also manages the operation of high-level windows, the compressor, ventilation fans and outdoor lighting schedules.

A distinctive feature is the enclosed tunnel connecting the new facility with the company’s existing building. Presence sensors with integrated brightness detection work with dimmable DALI LED lighting. ComfortClick adjusts the lighting automatically using separate daytime and nighttime brightness levels, with further adjustments based on whether the tunnel is occupied. This helps maintain comfort and safety while reducing unnecessary energy use.

The access gates can be supervised and controlled through ComfortClick. Their external control buttons are enabled only during working hours, helping prevent unwanted access outside the company’s operating schedule.

The system continues to evolve as the company’s needs change. New components and functions can be added over time, allowing the building automation to grow alongside the production facility.
