Project Description
Implemented by Ramseyer Elektro AG, this KNX-based building automation project brings heating, blinds, windows, skylights, presence sensors and room controls together in one supervised system at the Heilpädagogische Tagesschule und Kindergarten in Münchenstein.
Each classroom has its own solar shading logic, adapted to the room and façade conditions. When someone raises the blinds using a push button or the visualization, a two-hour override temporarily pauses the automatic shading control. After that, the system returns to automatic operation.
The building also uses an intelligent night-cooling function. Room-specific logic evaluates indoor and outdoor temperatures and room status to control windows and skylights, helping cool the rooms naturally when conditions allow.
The visualization provides an overview of blinds, windows, skylights and automatic functions throughout the building. Every opening and closing of a window or skylight is monitored and reported by email, giving the building operator added visibility.
By combining room-by-room automation with manual control and detailed supervision, the system supports comfort, energy efficiency and safety in the school environment.
