Commercial
Project main image

The APPM Onlus project showcases a modern tertiary building equipped with a complete automation system integrating KNX, DALI, Modbus, and BACnet protocols. Managed through ComfortClick’s Jigsaw Pro server, the system ensures comfort, safety, and energy efficiency while simplifying maintenance and daily operation.

Technology Used:

  1. KNX and DALI for lighting control
  2. KNX for contacts, weather station, and technical alarms
  3. BACnet for heating, cooling, ventilation, and heat pumps
  4. Modbus for photovoltaic and fire detection systems
  5. HTTP driver for weather forecast integration

Project Description:

Developed by AP Elettrica di Alberto Pecoraro e C. S.n.c., this project delivers a complete automation solution for a tertiary building used by the non-profit organization APPM Onlus. The system combines lighting, HVAC, ventilation, energy, and safety management under one unified platform, providing both functionality and sustainability.

Lighting is managed through KNX for on/off control and DALI for dimming, with presence sensors regulating brightness based on natural light levels to maintain constant illumination. All configurations are accessible via graphical pages within the ComfortClick visualization, while emergency lighting is monitored through a centralized control system.

The automation also includes technical alarms for circuit breakers and disabled bathroom pull cords, ensuring safety and rapid response. Through BACnet, the system manages heating, cooling, mechanical ventilation, and heat pumps, displaying CO₂ levels in each room for air quality control.

Additional logic automates stairwell dome openings and closings based on temperature, and rain detection from the KNX weather station triggers automatic closure to protect the building. The external gate and garage door motors are also integrated into the system.

The photovoltaic system and fire detection are connected via Modbus, while real-time weather data is provided through an HTTP forecast integration. All these subsystems are monitored and managed through ComfortClick’s bOS, providing a single, user-friendly control point for building operators.

The result is a reliable and scalable automation solution that combines energy efficiency, safety, and smart building management all powered by ComfortClick.
